Review- Storiarts Literary Apparel

I love anything that is cute and literary. So when Storiarts got in touch to ask if I would review their collection, I was stoked.

Storiarts have also kindly offered me a discount code for readers! Read to the end to see how you can save 10% on your next order.

StoriartsA Bit About Storiarts

Storiarts are Tori and Chris, a wife and husband duo, who first first began their adventure into literary apparel, when Tori first made their Pride and Prejudice scarf to give as Christmas presents one year. They’re a brilliant small business with big goals and some amazing bookish products.

Upon Arrival

Storiarts Packaging

I was able to choose which products I would like to review and chose a Book Scarf and some Writing Gloves. The process was very simple and I was able to track my parcel through USPS the entire way, which was particularly useful as the shipping was international. the delivery took roughly two weeks, which for international shipping is about standard.

When the package arrived it was carefully packaged in black tissue paper and also came with two Storiarts bookmarks which had a lovely classical design feel. Here’s what I thought to each of the products.

The Raven Book Scarf

This is a beautifully designed scarf. I specifically chose this design because The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe is one of my all time favourite poems. I chose to study Poe and love so many of the collections of his works that have been printed that it was really a no brainer.

The Raven Scarf

You can also choose between a winter and a summer scarf. The main difference is that the summer scarf is cotton knit and comes with a decorative bow ribbon, which is half the weight of the winter scarf made from cotton jersey. I’m so glad I decided to go for the winter scarf. The cotton jersey is the softest material ever. As expected it’s the same material used on super soft jersey style jumpers and it makes this scarf so smooth to touch. It rests delicately on your shoulders but has the weight of warmth.

Another brilliant aspect is that these scarves are snoods! The design is 32 inches circumference and fits the full 16 verse poem twice. It also features a stunning raven illustration that has just come out as a pillow! So excited!

Overall, this is a high quality, stunning literary product and you would be foolish to think otherwise.

Jane Eyre Writing Gloves

The second product I tried were these magical writing gloves. Jane Eyre is one of the most compelling piece’s of classical literature I’ve ever read. It is by far one of my favourite books, with a strong female lead. My favourite scene from Jane Eyre is where Jane believes Mr Rochester is about to marry another woman. She tenders her resignation and in a flurry of classical emotion she give’s Rochester a good speech on humanity.

“I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will.”

This is one of my all-time favourite literary quotes. The text written on these gloves actually leads up to this piece and contains another of my favourite quotes:

“Do you think I am an automaton? — a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong! — I have as much soul as you — and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much wealth, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you. I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh: it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God’s feet, equal — as we are!”

I’ll admit the gloves themselves were a bit tight but the quality and clarity of the text and fabric were more than enough to make up for the fact.

What else Storiarts Make

I love these items and Storiarts actually make a whole range of them including lots of your favourite books and their range is constantly expanding! They also make great gifts for bookish friends if you’re too scared to get them an actual book because you haven’t been able to memorise their shelves!

You can buy pillow covers, headbands, tee-shirts and, as seen above, a range of summer/winter scarves and gloves!
